Could Elvis Have Escaped Tom Parker?

One question that many Elvis fans has always wondered could Elvis have escaped Tom Parker. Many people are on the notion that Elvis could never leave Parker, as the Colonel had some kind of hold over Elvis. Even though Tom Parker had a somewhat weird relationship with Elvis it worked for both parties.

Elvis Presley was a loyal man who always kept his word even to Tom Parker. Yes, Elvis could have escaped Tom Parker, but most believe he would never do that for a number of reasons. One of the main reasons is Elvis felt without Tom Parker he would have never got the breaks he did. Tom Parker did have a lot of contacts and got top dollar for Elvis when he appeared. In a way, they both helped each other out, so it was a working relationship that worked well for both parties.

Tom Parker earned Elvis Presley’s trust and by doing that he knew Elvis would not go anywhere else. At times, people tried to convince Elvis to leave, but he believe very much in Colonel Tom Parker and what he was doing. In the end, Elvis trusted Tom Parker no matter decision good or bad. Leaving was an option, but one probably Elvis did not entertain much.
